The memorial was kinda all over the place... and some people's "sadness" seemed a little overacted, but my favorite performer was Jennifer Hudson-- beautiful cover of Michael's Will You Be There?
Rest in Peace, Michael Jackson. Bless your heart and all the passion and talent you shared with the world. Outside of all the sadness and mystery surrounding MJ, his music touched hearts worldwide, and I truly feel it for him. The celebrity and pressure really ruined much of the last years of his still very young life.

Quote of the Day

“Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.” -Frederick Douglass
Heard this on the radio today, Tavis Smiley's PRI show, Tavis Talks (via 91.3 WLRN, NPR-affiliate). I heart NPR, and the discussion on Presidents and the Civil Rights Movement today was very interesting and educational. Clarence Jones-- Martin Luther King, Jr.'s attorney-- retraced historical moments in the movement. Tavis Talks podcasts can be found at www.TavisTalks.com. Today there was also some great remembrance of Michael Jackson by Motown man Berry Gordy himself.
