A little over a month to wait for these pretty little things to hit the beauty counter, but already I am enticed to put on a wide-brimmed sunhat, lounge-esque one-piece, fancy flops and get out in the sun.... mostly to show off my season-specific nail polish!!
I guess at $30 a pop-- yes, the price has gone up-- I may only be able to splurge on one of these springy shades, if that! Since I will be forced to choose, I pick Nouvelle Vague (the faint yet full-of-life aquamarine on the left). Riviera comes in second, and last, but not least, the sheer pink Mistral.
Here are some other Chanel colors I wish I hadn't missed out on:
Gold Friction (below)
Jade-- the sold out Fall 2009 polish that was ravenously sought out on the good ol' WWW for $100 and upwards (below)
Even this crazy Robertson Boulevard collection... mostly the fiery orange L.A. Sunset, 2nd Place- Sunrise, 3rd- tie between Rodeo Drive and Melrose seeing as I already have Chanel Organdy which is similar enough to Melrose, not to mention allllll my other bright pink polishes, and I am not crazy about the Rodeo Drive shade of purple, though I am sure if I got to try it on, I might feel otherwise!
***P.S. Just realized OF COURSE I love the new summer colors. They match my blog background perfectly!

A Super Yummy Summery Smoothie (Courtesy of Smoothie Guru Kimberly Snyder)
Here is the Summer Green Smoothie Recipe posted over at Kimberly Snyder's Health and Beauty Blog.
FULL RECIPE:
- 3 big handfuls or spinach (cut major stems off, don’t worry about the skinny, little guys)
- Handful of mint
- 3 ripe summer peaches
- 1 banana (optional, and helpful for those of you that are still getting used to the Green Smoothie! )
- 1 – 1/2 cups of water
Remember that this makes about 4 glasses, you you CAN cover it airtight and drink it yourself over 2 days, 3 days max, or less if you share with someone else!
You CAN also freeze it in portions, like in glass trays, and thaw one out the night before so it is drinkable in the morning.
Thank You Kim!!! Take a moment to visit Kim's blog, if you haven't met her already!

Summercise!
This summer I am hitting the gym and setting some lofty goals! I have a membership to the Crunch Gym about nine blocks from my apartment, and I am truly loving it. This morning I had a fabulous workout with a girlfriend of mine. We took a Hatha Yoga class and will be back for another tomorrow morning. In between the days on which I hit the gym, I also use a slew of pilates, yoga and cardio DVDs. Below are my favorites. In addition to these I own the vintage Abs & Buns of Steel and a Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred (recently purchased and yet to try).
I first purchased the Crunch DVDs in a set of three: Fat Burning, Burn & Firm, and Pick Your Spot Pilates-- all purchased bargain-price at Sam's Club. I loved them so much, I later purchased the Super Slim Down Pilates Yoga Blend on Amazon.com... all the DVDs can be purchased on Amazon (duh!) at great prices, used or new. I believe I also bought the 30-Day Shred and Abs & Buns of Steel on Amazon, as well.
One summer break during college, I lost about 15-20 lbs. over a period of 10 or 12 weeks. I was eating healthy, cut out all alcohol, set some rules, went to bed early, woke up early, and in the evenings I would do my choice of 45-minute Crunch DVD. For motivation, I had the University of Florida Homecoming Pageant that fall semester. This time around, Nichole's upcoming wedding serves as my "I can't been on display and not be at my very best!"
Anyhow, the DVDs are highly recommended by yours truly! Maybe I'll post another time about my other workout and diet regimens.

Summer of 1969-- er, 2009
This Summer I am setting out a hefty list of goals for myself. As we are already well into summer, I have little time to truly get this on the press and into action. I always figure putting things in writing forces me to stick to the plan. I never enjoy looking at the physical proof that I said I would complete something and, instead, allowed laziness to prevail. For this set of goals, let's say summer ends September 7: Labor Day.
1. Education: Back to school this fall, all things allowing (most importantly financial aid).
2. Physical: 15 lbs. less in just over two months.
3. Beauty Regimen: Improving Skin Care... moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
4. Beauty Regimen: Hands and nails. Trying to get back on a mani/pedi schedule. My nails are so thin!
5. Beauty Regimen: Hair! I am growing my hair out. I have had it medium length since my second year of college and am ready to be long again... in the meantime, I am taking very good care to avoid breakage. My long-term goal is just below my boobies, mermaid, if you will ;), but by this Christmas, I'm aiming for bra length in the back... I will probably share a lot about my hair care on this blog.
6. Find a Half-Marathon: I would like to get back in the habit of charity walks/runs. And a half-marathon (keeping it realistic) somewhere in the near future, so this summer I am going to research one benefiting a cause of my choice, register, train and (as usual) force/drag/bribe some girlfriends to do it with me!
7. Rebuild My Wardrobe: ...at recessionista prices, of course. There are a lot of great deals to take advantage of during a down economy, and my closet needs some new friends.
8. Spend Time With Friends
9. Volunteer
10. Scrapbook
11. Keep In Touch With Family
12. Make Blogger Friends
13. Get My Spirituality On
14. Read
15. Travel: Since we are on a budget, Chad and I are doing a cruise with two other couples. At $300/person, 5 days/4 nights on Royal Caribbean is a steal! After the cruise, I aim to plan some travel goals for 2010.
16. Cook more often & Organize my recipes
17. Shed & organize my belongings
18. SAVEEEEEEE $$$
That's a heap! What are your plans for the summer?
